Ward 1 crazy about it’s community! I am fortunate enough to have had so many experiences this week, to showcase how much Ward 1 loves their community, but two examples from this week come to mind.
On Tuesday, August 28th Councilmember McDuffie from Ward 5 hosted a Ward 1 business forum, giving business owners a chance to come together to discuss their successes and concerns. I was able to hear about the present situation, and was fortunate enough to speak to many business owners one on one after the event.
Though Ward 1 is growing community, and the hard work of its residents means that businesses grow, it’s clear that more can be done to make this process both easier, quicker and more efficient. Constituent services is something I take very seriously, and it’s clear there is a place for it in the Ward 1 business community.
It can’t be all about work though; on Wednesday, August 29th I went along to DC Reynolds, for ANC1A’s Community Happy Hour. It was both informal, and informative as I engaged with voters to find out what they’re looking for in a candidate as we approach November. A big thank you to District Bridges, ANC1A and DC Reynolds for organizing this event.
As the summer winds down, I want to wish all my supporters and Ward 1 residents a happy and safe Labor Day! from everyone on Team Sycamore.
