DC Candidate Forum on Climate Change

Climate change is real. Election day is soon. The science of how and why our planet is changing isn't up for debate anymore, and the benefits of addressing it have become clear. Now we need a healthy dialogue about the best strategies for solving it. What role should our city play in averting catastrophic climate change?

The US Green Building Council has invited all candidates for mayor and council to participate in this urgent discussion on climate change and the role of the DC government with regard to resilience, economic development, housing, and transportation. Join us on October 23rd at the LEED Platinum Dunbar High School in Truxton Circle. Share this event and spread the word on this critical issue!

DC State Fair

DC State Fair

The DC State Fair is a free showcase of the District’s agricultural and creative talents and a daylong celebration of all things homegrown. While the DC State Fair is inspired by time-honored state fair traditions—growing and gardening, animal husbandry, and deep-fried foods—it also honors the things that make the District of Columbia unique. This means the DC State Fair holds competitions to find the tastiest mumbo sauce, best honey, and most creative hula hoopers in the city; puts on a Pet Parade instead of a pig race; and works with local businesses and organizations that are committed to helping our community thrive.

The ninth annual DC State Fair will take place Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Waterfront Station in Southwest DC (375 and 425 M St. SW).

We can only do this with your help; so whether you want to man the booth, take donations or even walk up and down and meet people, all help is welcome. We'll deck you out in one of our tshirts, and they'll be a reward for all your hard work.

Contact us through here, or manager@sycamore4dc.com and let us know what you can do, whether it's an hour or an afternoon. Any special requirements, don't you worry, we've got you covered. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
